Product Description The SoftBox enlarges and diffuses the light with the flash in the direct flash position. The light is softened and more evenly distributed as it passes through a center-weighted frosted diffuser. The unique design does not block either exposure sensors or auto focus assist beams on most flashes.

Invaluable tool August 30, 2007 What a simple and incredible product.
It really does dramatically soften the flash and spread it VERY wide.
I purchased this specifically to take "flashed" pics with a fisheye lens.
This is the only portable product I'm aware of the is sturdy and flexible and made of great material to achieve this diffusion for a corded flash.
Quite satisfied September 7, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought one of these last week and used it for an event shoot over the weekend, and I'm very happy with it. It diffuses the light quite well... basically does what it's designed to do.
I bought a Cinch Strap from Lumiquest at the same time, which nicely gets around the issue of sticking velcro strips on the flashgun. While it's not as secure as if the thing were "glued" to the flash, the inside of the strap is rubberized which helps a lot with keeping things in place. It also didn't take long to get a technique down for attaching it.

Its good item, the only thing i dont like its the way it attaches it self to the flash, you need to stick velcro to your flash, and still a bit loose.
It does diffuse light November 15, 2005 15 out of 17 found this review helpful
It does soften the light from my Canon 420EX flash. And the half-bow-tie design is clever in that it allows the autofocus assist lights to work unobstructed. But in order to attach this accessory to a flash you are supposed to stick 4 pieces of sticky backed velcro on the flash itself. I find this objectionable and it seems that a more elegant or clever solution could be readily found. For example I took a 14" long piece of velcro used for wrapping network cables and wound it tightly around the top of the flash. This works to some degree but the softbox still slips and slides around a bit and the assembly must be handled delicately.
