4 out of 5 stars Economico y con excelentes prestaciones   September 1, 2010

English:
I used this flash a few times to prove his versatility, and I liked it.
It works perfectly with ETT-L with my Canon XS (1000D). The zoom is fast and low noise. I have used it with batteries not so new and it works perfectly, it takes about 5 seconds to load first for subsequent shots is much faster.

Emits a powerful white light. In manual mode you can adjust the zoom as well as the output power in 5 steps (1 / 1, half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth). What I liked is the slave function which is triggered by photocell (to get another flash). Together with the flash I bought a remote trigger (transmitter receiver) and also works wonder. For use with Triggers need to put the flash in manual mode (not slave).

As for physical appearance and construction, is a flash of good size, very similar to the flash canon 580 ex. It is constructed of strong plastic. Without the flash batteries in the hand feels like a toy. but put on the camera gives the impression of a good flash. It has built two sheets (one to bounce the light when it is bent and another as a broadcaster. His head rotates 360 ° and tilts at angles from vertical to horizontal.

Comes with a carry case for storage and operating instructions.

Very good flash. I recommend it to all those who wish to start with the flash economically and above all good

5 out of 5 stars Good price, good form and function   August 24, 2010

First eTTL flash I've owned, though I've used Canon eTTL's before. This flash works perfectly on my T1i, zooming with the lens and adjusting appropriately. The low-light focus assist is a nice thing to have too, and works fine in the situations I've tested it in thus far. It doesn't put out quite as many photons as my trusty old Vivitar 285, but not much can beat that old tank. As a photo-triggered slave, it works like a champ. Full manual control - a few more increments on the power levels might be nice, but at least it has 1/8 (1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16).

A couple of small things to whine about - it has a "bell" button which excited me for a second - I thought it was a beep that would sound when it had recharged after a firing - invaluable in slave mode - but alas, it just enables a beep that sounds on a button press. Also, the auto-sleep is odd. I use it occasionally on a radio trigger, and it falls asleep fairly quickly (battery-save mode). Once it's asleep, it ... continues to fire when triggered, but with an intensity that diminishes with each firing. Usually what happens is I notice my shots coming out underexposed and go wake it up again. This does NOT happen in photo-triggered slave mode - in that mode it (thankfully) doesn't go to sleep and just keeps cranking out the flashes 'til the batteries run out.

Really, all-in-all, a great buy. Would buy another one, and at the price, I just might.

(One tip - DON'T hit the zoom button while the flash is 'booting up' - wait until all is quiet. It can get confused and try to zoom past the limit until you hastily shut it off - it didn't damage anything but sure made quite a racket)

4 out of 5 stars sweet flash without breaking the bank!!   June 14, 2010

if you're in love with photography and you wanna get better but you don't wanna go bankrupt for it...this flash is the perfect solution !!
It s pretty easy to use and the manual is to the point ...READ IT..IT HELPS !!

the ONLY issue I have with this flash is the recharge time...it was about 6 seconds but I must admit both times I put in some rechargeable batteries that were sitting for 2 weeks so that might be on me....
I need to test on some freshly charged ones and see if the output is the same. I don't mind waiting a few extra seconds for the money I was able to save !

This Vivitar flash works well, has many of the features found in a Canon flash, at a much lower price. I am very satisfied with it, giving me great pictures.

Saludos.
