 Not good for intraoral photography September 5, 2010

Being a dentist, I purchased this light for my intraoral photography. But i am disappointed with the result. The light is not sufficient for intraoral photography. I have used the Vivitar older version macro ring flash and i got very sharp result.I use canon EOS 450D SLR with 60mm 2.8 Macro USM lens(Canon). For good intraoral photographs you need 13 apperture minimum (so you have good depth of field) with minimum 100 speed with 100 ISO. This light is not sufficient for this settings. I don't want to go for expensive canon one so i am thinking of Opteka RL-500 eTTL AF Macro Ring Flash or Bower make. I think either of two should work ok for my work.

Im a beginner with photography. Ive been doing video for quite a while. I started doing portraits of the family and wanted an accessory for my D3000. This works great. I use this along with a slave flash for some great head shots. Its a little hard for the subject to get used to the bright light at first, I wish it had a dimmer feature, but after a minute they are fine. If you get real close to a subject like a macro shot it really fills in the light needed. I would highly recommend this item.

Okay, so I thought it was a FLASH ring light but it's just a light that shines. It's great for the price so it didn't really bother me.
It's great it comes with the tracking number when you ask (don't forget to ask right away) and they were very open to communication when I couldn't track it. Their response was speedy and friendly. I got it and was HAPPY. The product works wonderfully for simple shots that need a little extra light.
I have a 18mm-55mm lens on my canon and the 55mm didn't fit BUT the 58mm did. Still looking for a ring light FLASH. But this product worked perfect for my last shoot. I'll be shopping from this company again.

This ring light is a great tool for macro work. It's light, well made for the price and works very well. There are six adapter rings included in various sizes but there is no 72mm ring. 67 mm is the largest. If a 72mm ring were included it would serve my purposes completely.
