Amazon.com Product Description
The Remmington Security 2155 Teddy Bear Table Lamp Security Camera with 2-channel Switcher provides convenience and discretion in a complete observation system that allows you to view multiple camera locations sequentially in real-time in a full-screen display. The camera included in this system is hidden inside a panda-style, 10-inch plush acrylic teddy bear with an antique-brass brushed lamp that actually works, making the Remmington Security 2155 a complete security system perfect for a child's room.

The 2155's 5-inch black-and-white picture-tube monitor provides you with a crisp, clear picture and includes an AC power adapter. This unit features a two-channel auto-switcher that allows it to support up to two cameras, and a built-in RCA audio/video jack that allows it to connect to a VCR or TV in seconds. The 2155's camera utilizes a 3.8-mllimeter wide-angle fixed-focus lens, and provides a good picture with a horizontal resolution of 350 TVL (TV lines). This unit also includes audio capability and built-in IR (infrared) sensors for night vision. Already great in low-light conditions with a minimum illumination of 0.5 Lux, this unit's IR illuminators allow for no-light viewing within a limited distance. The 2155's lamp uses a soft light that makes it great as a night-light that is controlled via an on/off pull chain, and includes a 60-foot connecting cable that allows you flexibility in placement.

Technical Features:

  • Monitor: 5 inch B/W
  • Camera lenses: 3.8 mm wide-angle fixed
  • Sensitivity: 0.5 Lux to infinity; 0 Lux within limited distance
  • Camera resolution: 350 horizontal TVL
Designed for indoor use, the Remmington Security 2155 offers you everything you need in a basic, totally discreet surveillance system. This system is intended for use with a professional security recorder, such as a time-lapse VCR or a DVR, in order to take advantage of its recording functionality. Users should note that the image sensor in the camera may become permanently damaged if exposed to long hours of direct sunlight or halogen light, so the camera should not be mounted or pointed directly at the sun or other bright-light sources.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.
