Great Small Camera Bag July 1, 2010 Robert McConnell (Kirkland, WA USA) This case is the perfect size for medium sized digital cameras like the Micro Four Thirds models from Olympus and Panasonic. It would also work great for the super zoom digital camera like the Canon SX10. There is room for a few accessories and one or two accessory lenses plus the camera. The construction of the case is bulletproof. Heavy fabric, big zippers, movable pads inside, etc. The shoulder strap is long enough to wear across your chest and the color doesn't attract attention. So high quality and the perfect size for medium cameras equal a great case.
Excellent, but perhaps too large for Micro 4/3 June 13, 2010 Jeremy Thornhill 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Let me just say, this bag is wonderful.
The materials are top notch, all around. The bag and strap are made of very thick, very rugged canvas. The sliders and latches are all made of metal; the strap adjustment loops and zipper strips are plastic, but they seem to be very large and very tough.
The sides, bottom, and dividers are well padded in this bag. The bottom is rigid, to keep its general structure and allow it to stand on its own. The shoulder strap has some kind of grip design that keeps it firmly in place.
The velcro is substantial and it makes things very secure. I feel safe enough leaving the bag partially unzipped and relying on the velcro alone for quicker access. Yes, it's loud, but I'm OK with that.
I can't honestly find a single complaint, other than that it's perhaps a bit pricey. It does exactly what it says, and it just oozes quality.
Now, I was looking for a bag specifically for traveling light with a small amount of Micro 4/3 gear, and after extensive research I was torn between this and the F-5XA. After getting this bag, I think the latter would have been more appropriate (but I'm certainly keeping this one for when I'm *not* traveling as light). Here's what I can cram in here:
- E-P2 body with one of the lenses below mounted
- Olympus 17mm f/2.8
- Olympus 14-42mm
- Panasonic 45-200mm
- Panasonic 20mm f/1.7
- Olympus 50mm f/2 Macro with Micro 4/3 adapter mounted
- Olympus FL-14 flash
- Olympus VF1 optical viewfinder
- Olympus VF2 electronic viewfinder
- Spare battery/memory cards/filters/etc in the front pocket
It does really make you appreciate how much smaller M4/3 is, and how different its needs are. What's for a SLR a small day bag (it'll hold my SLR + 2 lenses, or 1 lens + flash) can hold my entire M4/3 system.
So, I'm keeping it as my "everything including the kitchen sink" M4/3 bag, but I'm still on the lookout for the F-5XA for traveling lighter. One thing's for sure, though: my next bag will be a Domke. I'm sold on this brand and I hope Tiffen continues to do it justice.
Perfect bag for going light February 11, 2010 J. Rust (Santa Rosa, CA United States) No one bag serves every purpose, but this one is perfect for what I wanted. It holds my Pentax K-x with 50-200 lens attached to the body with room enough to throw in either the 18-55 kit lens or other accessory of about that size. Front pocket holds small, thin items like lens cap, filter, remote, etc. This bag hangs very comfortably and is very inconspicuous which is exactly what I needed. Very simple design but very practical and I love the green. I am ordering another larger Domke for those times when I want to carry a little more, but these bags are my favorite of all the camera bags I have owned. This bag does not have the excess padding of the other brands, but I am very careful with my gear and wanted something more slim-lined and this suits the bill.
Great product February 11, 2010 Sylvia N. Hasui 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the best camera cases that I have ever used. Lots of compartments, light weight, well padded, and has a nice wide and sturdy strap. Would buy one again.
When you want to be low-key in the city January 12, 2010 fauxsheaux 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't like lugging around the included kit bag for the D5000 so I searched the net for something small, light, and low-key. I found the incase dslr bag, but only available at [...] and shipping was was too much so I checked Amazon and found this little guy. It fits the D5000 with 35 attached and 55-200 perfectly!
