Product Description With four aspherical lenses and six aspherical surfaces, including an EA (Extra High Refractive Index Aspherical) lens, Panasonic's DMC-FX35 Lumix digital camera features a 25mm wide-angle Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens with a 4x optical zoom that's compact enough to fit in a slim, stylish body. This advanced lens system allows you to capture images with a sense of spatial breadth and depth that simply isn't possible with a 35mm camera. Set the FX35 to iA mode and let the five Intelligent Auto functions team up to help prevent shooting errors. Intelligent Exposure corrects lighting differences, so images come out just the way you see them; Intelligent Scene Selector chooses the mode that best fits the situation; MEGA Optical Image Stabilization (O.I.S.) helps prevent blurring from hand-shake; Intelligent ISO Control helps prevent motion blur; and Face Detection helps produce clear portraits by optimizing the focus and exposure settings. The FX35 can record motion images with sensational 1280 x 720 HD resolution at 30fps. You can use the zoom, too, and capture some truly dramatic shots. f=4.4-17.6mm (35mm Equiv. - 25-100mm) Focal Length 2.5 Diagonal Polycrystalline TFT LCD Display (230K dots) Focusing Area Normal - 50cm - infinity, Macro / Intelligent AUTO / Clipboard - wide 5cm/Tele 50cm - infinity 8 - 1/2,000 sec. Not meet my expectation December 5, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have purchased this camera and I was disappointed with the picture quality. Normally I do good amount of research before I purchase a product, but this was one of few that I had misjudgement on. I was looking for a wide angle camera so I started to look for a good one. I ran into this so I have read reviews and did research. After receiving the camera I tryed to take pictures, but I don't like most of the pictures that came out. I have 5 year old Konica Dimage and it take way better pictures. The worst thing about this camera is flash. It is weak!! The flash shows on the pictures very uneven. only few spots are bright enough to show up on the picture and surrounding is dark. I am very disappointed by the camera. It's too bad that none of the review mentioned this.
Lumix camera - excellent for indoor use November 17, 2008 I reviewed lots of options, and ultimately it came down to the Lumix DMC-FX35D or the Fuji f100fd. Both are highly rated in low light, but I liked the wider angle from the Lumix. The camera performs flawlessly and does an excellent job in low light.
Love this camera! November 12, 2008 I bought this camera for a trip to Mexico and am absolutely in love with it. The picture quality is fantastic. It takes great pics in really dark settings or really bright settings. I took a few videos with it as well and the sound quality is great as well.
The only con that I can think of is that if you move around a lot while taking your photos it will turn out blurry. But I only had 5-6 blurry photos out of 400, so it is merely a very minor inconvenience.
Would definitely recommend this camera!

It's decent enough August 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I usually drag around my big ol film cameras, and finally decided I needed something I could just put in my pocket. The Lumix is a point & shoot, and it pretty much controls how the picture will be taken. Which is fine. The quality is fine, it's small, and the shutter delay is minimal. Glad I bought it.
