3 out of 5 stars Should be better than it is   November 18, 2008
I bought this to replace my Logitech Laser MX 1000, which I loved and which lasted many years.

My primary complaint is that the battery charge does not last long at all. While it is great that it comes with two batteries that are easily and quickly swapable (good design there), I find it very annoying how often I have to switch. As a gamer, having the mouse die in the midst of a game is very frustrating. No matter how quickly you get back up and running, ANY down-time is inconvenient in the extreme. The G7 Laser batteries last only a couple of hours (depending on use), so I'm swapping several times a day. Not good, in my opinion.

Other than that, the other complaint is with the buttons: although it supposedly comes with customizable/programable buttons, it really doesn't.

I wish the MX1000 was still available.

3 out of 5 stars Good but has a classic problem   November 16, 2008
I got this product in at least two years ago. In the beginning it works very well, fast and accurate. The battery is running out very fast. But it does not bother me because I am not a big game guy.

After one year or so, I found that the left click button sometimes behaved as a double click when I actually pressed once. I kept using it until I found it turned to be a big headache. Then I googled and found this was a big and classic problem with this mouse. A lot of people experience this 'double/single' click problem.

I called logitech and exchanged to a new one ( free with warranty). The new one had been used for around 6 months and never caught me any problem yet.

Overall, it is a very good mouse if without that big headache.

3 out of 5 stars Mouse OK but batteries are not   November 15, 2008
I use this mouse in the computer department of a local library where I work. It works well and is light weight. We have to change the rechargable batteries twice a day as mention here. To me this is annoying. My Logitec mouse at home uses two AA batteries and goes a couple of months before changing. Once these batteries won't hold a charge for long, what do you do with the mouse?

My advice use only a mouse you can easily get new batteries for or one that uses a standard size rechargable battery.

5 out of 5 stars My batteries dead!... oh wait n/m   November 11, 2008
Before getting this mouse I had the logitech mx800 wireless mouse. Which was a great product but it's getting too old and worn out and the battery doesn't hold a charge as long as it used to so I found this one.

Pro's: Two rechargable batteries (one charges while you're useing the other one), stylish, on mouse adjustable dpi which is great in gaming when you need that extra quick turning power. Especially good for use in ground turrets on BF2142 and tanks on COD5 as at max dpi it makes them turn way faster. No interference! at least none that I've noticed.

Con's: Batteries take 8-10 hours to charge. If you have no life and game the whole day you'll reach a point where the one in the mouse is dead and the one in the charger isn't finished. They did include a quick charge feature but those reduce the overall lifespan of the battery if used too much.

1 out of 5 stars G-l lasts at most 1 year then dies!   November 5, 2008
SO I got it and it was good for a year then it died. RMA i get a DOA RMA again 2 months later dead now I'm trying to get a refund so i can get the G5 (much better). Save money and get a G5.
