Product Description This one lens can be your new standard in creativity - doing the work of five lenses a 19mm, 20mm, 24mm, 28mm and 35mm. This 19-35mm zoom is constructed with high refraction, low dispersion (HLD) glass and multicoated lens elements produced by Hoya Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of optical glass. The barrels of the lens are made from black poly carbonate to reduce the overall weight of the lens, making it a super convenient piece of equipment for photographers to carry while traveling, hiking or engaged in other activities where low weight counts. A specialized hood which attaches by quick bayonet mount is included, and works in the entire zoom range.PRODUCT FEATURES:Zooming System: Rotary Type. This lens is intended for Nikon systems.

Pretty good lens July 30, 2008 Cons: Its not fancy looking, shots are not consistently good, lots of bad reviews
Pros: Nice vibrant colors, cheap (paid $65), cheap wide angle. Well kept secret, like Canon 50mm 1.8 II...
Made by Hoya? January 8, 2005 3 out of 11 found this review helpful
Given that most Quantaray (Ritz Camera's store brand) lenses are made by Sigma, I was surprised to read that this 19-35mm is made by Hoya. I went down to my local Ritz store and asked them about it. As usual, the clerks there couldn't answer my question.
If this is indeed a Hoya lens, then it's probably best to stay away from it. Hoya is known for making dirt-cheap, low-quality stuff. This is not to say this lens is total trash, and if you have a cheap Nikon SLR and just want a relatively inexpensive wideangle lens, this may still work for you -- although $200 is a lot of money in my book. I'm staying away from this one. I can get a Tamron for just a little more but its quality is many times superior.
