Product Description The Velocity 6x - Compact Sling Pack is a compact sling pack designed for a compact digital or film SLR with a zoom lens attached up to 5" long, another small lens or flash and accessories. The sling pack design is versatile to carry like a backpack, but can be easily accessed by sliding the pack around to the front. The secure zippered Quick Flip Top opens away from the body for fast and convenient access to camera gear. A well-padded sling strap comfortably distributes the weight, but need not be removed to quickly access photo equipment. The front pocket has organizer pockets inside to keep a mobile phone, PDA or photo accessories within easy reach. It also features Tamrac's U.S.-patented Memory & Battery Management System that uses red flags to identify available memory cards from ones that are used up. A pocket inside the lid stores filters and lens caps.

great bag November 23, 2008 It is a pretty great bag, waterproof, and small. I live in an urban area so I don't look obvious that I'm carrying around a camera when I'm going on my photo-trips. I got it for the Nikon D90, it fits the body and the lens - you can use it for the battery, memory cards - but just like a review I saw, it doesn't fit the charger+wire. Overall, a pretty good sling-bag to carry it around, especially when trying to be discreet about what you're carrying.
Great Bag for Canon Xsi November 2, 2008 This is an excellent bag for a digital SLR like the Canon Xsi. While one reviewer said it was too small for the Canon Xti, it's perfect for the newer, smaller Canon Xsi. I can store the charger and an extra battery in the right side compartment and store my 18 - 55 mm lens in the left one. I mount my 55 - 255 mm telephoto lens on the camera which then fits snugly in the bag. I can also mount the normal lens on the camera and store the zoom telephoto in the left compartment. I also like the Modular Accessory System straps on the two sides which allow attachment of Tamrac accessory cases, if desired. I use one of mine to attach my compact digital camera in it's case so I don't have to always change between my normal and telephoto lens when I'm in a hurry. This bag is compact but well padded. The inserts inside the bag separate and protect the lens mounted on the camera from the extra lens and battery charger in the side compartments. This bag can be carried so it rides on your back or can be carried so it hangs under your arm for security in crowded areas. This position is also good if you are hiking and are using a backpack. In addition, the bag is small enough that it fit in my computer backpack so I could carry my laptop, my camera and bag, other valuables as well as my computer and camera accessories in one carryon when flying. This bag is exactly what I was looking for when searching for a compact, functional bag for my Canon Xsi.Tamrac 5766 Velocity 6x Compact Sling Pack (Black)Tamrac 5766 Velocity 6x Compact Sling Pack (Blue)Tamrac 5766 Velocity 6x Compact Sling Pack (Blue) + Accessory Kit
Finally, An SLR Camera Bag That Works! August 6, 2008 This is by far the best SLR camera bag on the market. My Pentax K10D with 18-55mm lens and hood fits perfectly. If I remove one of the inserts, there's room for my 18-200mm lens; plus plenty of room in the front pocket for spare batteries, cards, etc. I like the comfort, size, and quick-easy access. The only improvements needed is the strap, which I think should be interchangeable (for those that don't like sling packs) and the backside of the bag should have rubberized coating for added durability when setting the bag on the ground. Otherwise, this is a wonderful product, and I'll never carry anything else.
Comfortable and Secure June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This cross body sling-style bag is just big enough for one dSLR with one lens attached and an extra lens. The front zipper pouch can carry keys and thin wallet or filter case. It's a snug fit for my Nikon D80 and that's OK with me as I like it compact. At the end of the day, the only thing that bothered me was the big slider thing (to adjust the length of the shoulder strap) which cut into my shoulder with the strap nearly fully extended, due to the weight of camera and lens'. An added shoulder strap pad would make it comfortable enough for all day shooting. The ability to wear it across rather than on one shoulder makes it extra secure. I recommend this bag highly.
Great medium between backpack and case!! June 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this bag for my Canon EOS 40D. Im sure a lot of people would not have made that decision. The body of the 40D is fairly wide. Upon, first fitting the 40D, the sides were a bit tight, which is what I wanted for the most part. After fitting the 40D with a 28-105mm 3.5-4.5, I still had space for an additional lens (about the same size) and the battery charger. In the front zipper pocket, I was able to fit memory card, and some filters. The strap makes it extremely convenient for easy access. If you want to bring the essentials, I say go for this bag. You might want to look at the other models for telephoto lenses or additional lenses.
