Incredible sound January 7, 2009 I bought this for my son who uses it for gaming and he is blown away by the details in the sound that he can get with this headset! It has definitely improved his gaming as he can now hear details that he missed before! This set certainly has exceeded what I was expecting for such a great price! If you are a gamer, this is a must have!
Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset January 6, 2009 This is a great product that I have been using with SKYPE. The headset is very comfortable, even after extended periods of use and interfaces with SKYPE without any problems. The software loaded without any issues, but is for Microsoft LiveChat, also the contols seem to work only with LiveChat. Give this product a try, you will not be disappointed.Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 Headset
Great So Far. December 28, 2008 I received the headset as a gift because I had mentioned I was in the market for a new one. I have had just about every brand of headset and several models/styles from each brand. Logitech has many price points for their headsets and in my experience all were complete junk, same goes for Plantronics. With both of those brands I had at least two headsets that were duds straight out of the package, twice in a row from Plantronics. Several models of Cyber Acoustics headsets were comfortable but the mics died after minimal use. As yet this headset is comfortable, sounds good and the mic is pretty clear. My only issue (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars) is that the inline controls don't have any sort of clip so it just hangs and I can see how that opens it up to inadvertent abuse that could be causing a lot of the issues other reviewers have mentioned. I'm sure if I look around online or in a couple stores I can find some sort of stick-on clip to remedy this issue. As for the headset being heavy or tight on the head... I just don't see (or feel) it. The headset itself and the inline control are extremely lightweight and the fit is perfect, those having issues with fit are most likely underestimating the true girth of their head.
This is a piece of junk. December 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this one on Oct 15. It is already broken( Dec 26). I can't hear anything from it. What a piece of junk. I would rate it negative star but the lowest they have is one star. I called Amazon.com and they told me that it was past return deadline so they would charge me shipping fee and restocking fee to return it even though it is broken. If I bought this from a store, I wouldn't imagine they charge me all these fees. Stay away from this one.
Heavy as a BRICK December 21, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This headset is the worst thing I have ever seen. I purchased it today, got home, opened the packaging, put it on and well..... it is going back to the store tomorrow. I should have known better, since the packaging felt heavy, but I didn't realize HOW HEAVY this set really is until I put it on my head. The sound also seems muffled, it is not crisp and clear.
Bottom line, it took me all of 2 minutes to realize Microsoft has AGAIN put their name on a piece of junk. This set is SO BAD, if I had gotten it for free, it would go strait into the trash can.
LOOK ELSE WEAR unless HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY is not a problem for your head and neck.
