Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The ExpoCap Custom White Balance Aid is an easy to use white balancing tool designed for use with fixed lens prosumer and entry-level DSLR cameras. Even the best digital cameras are incapable of consistently delivering accurate color without the user performing a custom white balance. Auto (AWB) and preset white balance functions often produce maddeningly inconsistent results. Images shot without a correct white balance may have unnatural looking red, yellow or blue tints that are time consuming and difficult, if not impossible to correct. A custom white balance calibrates the camera to the exact color temperature of light illuminating the subject. Whether you're printing directly from the camera, e-mailing images, or just wanting to avoid color correction software, the ExpoCap makes getting better color quick and easy. Simply place the ExpoCap in front of your lens and capture the incident light (the light falling on your subject) while setting your camera's custom white balance. Amateur and enthusiast photographers wanting the most out of their digital cameras will find the ExpoCap to be a convenient and simple way to get better color at capture, straight out of the camera. Each ExpoCap is constructed of a durable black aluminum ring mount securing an assembly of c

Great product March 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I take a lot of indoor shots in light my camera finds difficult to auto (or even preset) white balance correctly. I currently have a Pentax K10D. This product makes it very simple to get a pleasing color tone without an unpleasant cast. I find it easier and faster to use than a white or gray card. It also doubles as a lens cap. The only detriment is the price, although a good white card set can cost a lot as well.
