over priced garbage June 23, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I only give it one star, because the system does not allow for "0"... I am not a novice. I have had and have several excellent digital cameras. A friend brought this camera to me to show her how to use it... in order to remove or replace the SD card you need to take out the batteries, then the date setting or any pictures on the internal memory are gone...
the manual is not very helpful
the camera is painfully slow loading a shot, which is usually blurry and the color is washed out whether or not you use a flash... and some shots just don't even get loaded! You have to press very hard and keep the camera pointed at the subject... for a very long time.
the body is flimsy, plastic and the buttons are flimsy. the menu settings are very difficult to get to and very strange and mostly not usefull and those that are are lost every time you open and remove the batteries.
It is sad because hmy friend's son bought her this camera as a gift, and meaning well, but unknowledgable about what is most important, was impressed with 5 megapixels... 5 megapixels don't have much value with plastic lens, slow loading and all the other drawbacks. This gal would have been better of with an inexpensive 2, 3 or 4 megapixel cannon, HP, casio, vivitar, ANYTHING but this camera!
I bought a reverbished Minolta G400 (4 megs) recently for as much as that poor guy paid for this camera. I love it!
DO NOT BUY ONE!
