Good Effects April 25, 2001 13 out of 37 found this review helpful
Great lens if you know how to use it properly. The transition allows you to incorporate beautiful effects to your image, but is not recommended for beginner photographers. It is not a general purpose lens like the UV Haze or polarizer filters. It instead, seems to be a very specific case type lens.
Only more posibilities April 15, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Its great for your imagination to have the posibilities to bring out your ideas, as perfect as you think they are. This Tiffen filter gives you the whole support for making real that thing you have in mind. Certainly I wasnt sure of buying in specific this filter, then I start reading about this kind of filters in magazines, and finaly I decide when I saw a cinematographer using it (Taking stills for preproduction). I take my first 24 stills and I didnt know what more to do, so I star to experiment using it not only in the sky (as it usually is used), It was amazing what happened if you turn it 180 in a desert, or in a beach, or 90 in a person looking at a mirror, or taking it in a moving car. The posibilities are as long as the imagination of the photographer. Now imagine if you use this with a Pola, or another special effect filter. Im gonna try it.
Sky 1-A Filter March 7, 2001 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this filter. I do a lot of shots from pretty high up to cover larger bodies of water and buildings. It absorbs most of the UV light and makes my pictures warmer looking.
better black and white February 7, 2001 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This filter is primarily for b/w photography, although you could use it for color with a rather obvious and unusual effect. The lens works by filtering some of the blue from your photo. This means that for cloudy sky, and some vegetation and architecture shots you will see greater contrast. There are more or less intense red filters available depending on the degree of effect you want.
Sunglasses for your camera February 7, 2001 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Ever seen those photos of rivers and waterfalls where the water is all blurred and misty? This filter can help you achieve that and other effects. It drastically cuts down the light passing through your lens, forcing slower shutter speeds that will give the blur effect. This is the strongest ND filter, you may want to look at the 0.6 or 0.3 for a less noticable effect. Also, be prepared to use a tripod. This filter will easily push your shutter speed into multiple seconds, so you'd have to have one.
