5 out of 5 stars NIKON WIRELESS REMOTE   January 6, 2009
THIS REMOTE IS SMALL AND EASY TO USE. I USED IT FOR XMAS FAMILY PHOTOS. IT MADE TAKING THESE GROUP PIX SIMPLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYONE WITH A NIKON SLR.

5 out of 5 stars Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote for Nikon D40, D40x, D60, D80 & D90 DSLR cameras   January 5, 2009
Not only did I get fast delivery from choosing the standard shipping but the remote is aawesome. It took me a minute to figure out how to use it on my camera (Nikon D40) but after reading my camera manual I figured it out. FYI you turn the remote on under your shooting options, ie: single, continuous, remote duration etc...! Some people who have left reviews of this remote say they can't use it from behind their camera but I have no problem getting it to fire while I am pressing the remote button from behind my camera. Sucks that the remote itself doesn't come with an instruction manual but it really is a no brainer to figure out. I will be useing this remote for a long time!!!

3 out of 5 stars Nice Toy   January 3, 2009
This product allows you to take pictures remotely. This remote only activates the shutter release button, so it is more convenient than the timed shot. I no longer have to rush to the group to pose before a picture and I can take as many pictures as I want without returning to the camera.

Pros:
Remotely activate shutter release

Cons:
Does not perform auto-focus
Must be in front of camera
Responds well at 10ft
Remote must be unobstructed at 20ft

5 out of 5 stars Here's helpful info to get set up, since remote doesn't come with instructions   January 3, 2009

It took me a while to figure this out. I thought perhaps the battery was expired, especially since there was no red light on the remote when I clicked it. Turns out this remote's light doesn't light up. Here's the easy way to success ...

Use the Shooting Mode menu to CHANGE THE SHOOTING MODE to 2S Remote (two seconds) or immediate Remote -- there's an icon that looks like your remote. Remember to press OK to make this temporary change. (this change holds until you turn off your camera)

Go to the CUSTOM SETTING MENU and select REMOTE ON DURATION ... from there, you tell the camera how long to be responsive to the remote (indicate whether you'll be using the remote for the next 1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes). Remember to press OK.

Get in front of the camera (lens cap removed already) and POINT the remote to the IR receiver on the front of the camera. SMILE and CLICK the remote button ... it will take the shot immediately or after two seconds (depending on what you specified).

REMEMBER that the shooting mode goes back to the previous setting when you turn off the camera; you'll need to change the Shooting Mode again next time you want to take a photo via the remote.

5 out of 5 stars simple yet effective product   December 27, 2008
Excellent Product. Works just as specified. Nice and discretely small. A very inexpensive product that anyone with a compatible Nikon camera should own.
