 Great pruchase! January 8, 2009
This Garmin works great. Useful features include the estimated time of arrival at destination function, the mp3 player, and the speedometer which is more accurate than my cars. Gets confused if there are multiple ways to a destination but who wouldn't. Saved me one night when I got caught in the fog and the ferry I usually take was closed. It helped me find an alternate route home in the dark and fog. Very helpful!!

The garmin nuvi 360 is one of the best gps for the price. It says street names and has bluetooth.
Disappointed January 7, 2009
Our son highly recommended Garmin, loves his hand-held GPS for hikes. Friends on the east coast enthused over this particular model they had just bought for their car.
Ours, however, did not meet our expectations: 1) The female voice (Jill) garbled street names so neither my husband nor I could tell, for instance, whether we were looking for and supposed to turn on Ivanhoe or Navajo. It wasn't easy to tell on the map, either. 2) Some foreign names, even when pronounced clearly, are pronounced wrong. La Jolla, which is supposed to be Lah Hoy-ya, comes out Lay Joll-ah. ("A" is always supposed to be "ah," J is supposed to sound like "H," and ll double el) is supposed to sound like "y") 3) When we choose not to follow directions, as when we chose not to take a toll road, there is a long silence and Jill's voice actually sounds offended and snippy (my husband says "snide") when she finally says, "Recalculating."
4) Also, the way it tells us to stay on a freeway ("Take the 405") is worded so it sounds as if we are to get on that road when we're already on it.
I get the impression these Garmins are programmed by people on the east coast for locations on the east coast. Maybe the voices get increasingly inaccurate as they have to deal with points west. Jill needs to learn Spanish.
We switched to "Jack" and he's somewhat better. No voice at all may be best. We're still experimenting.
great gps - Garmin Nuvi 360 with bluetooth January 7, 2009
I really like the way it gives and shows directions. I love the fact that it takes a minute at most in the worst conditions to get a signal and a couple seconds in normal weather conditions. My Navagon was terible at that. My only complaint is the speaker is in the back so if you want to use the bluetooth feature it will be hard to hear the person on the other line when going 60 mph. You can plug into the 3.5m jack and make your car radio your speakers which resolves that issue if you have that capability. The bluetooth is great for around the house too. I had a litte trouble setting it up with my blackberry. It didn't detect the Garmin until I turned on another bluetooth headset I owned. I haven't tested the music features. I have a creative zen already so that didn't interest me. The pop up antenna can a little annoying at times but not to the point of ruining the experience.

Turn it on and go. It is just that simple to use. This was a Christmas gift for my husband who does not "do" electronics, but he was able to use it quickly and easily. What a blessing for times when you are not sure where you are going. I took it out the first time with my written instructions from an online site to compare them. I was very glad I had the Garmin with me because I was supposed to exit from one freeway to the next and the exit was closed, after I passed it (because I had to) the GPS just "recalculated" and sent me on a new route, which I obviously couldn't do with my printed directions. We have already used it to find new restaurants in our nearby area also. What a great item!
