Great photos!! December 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this camera. The quality of the photos is fantastic. The way the camera captures the photo even if my hands are moving is fantastic. Rarely a blurred shot. It seems to grab the image and hold it still! Nice big 2.5 inch LCD screen too. Very easy to use. I bought another one for a friend. I've had Canoncameras before and really liked the photo quality but the Leica lense on this camera is just as good..to my eye. I do a lot of photo art work....turning photos into note cards etc and I'm very satisfied with the photo quality. So much bang for my buck and now that these digital cameras are so small....it's easy to keep it in my purse.
a bit dissapointed... December 22, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
My husband bought this camera in order to replace my 2 year-old Sony Cybershot that I have been using with a broken LCD screen for the past 8 months. However, I was so dissapointed because it has no video shooting option, as my old cybershot had..... I have an hyperactive crazy little dog that I love to catch on photos and videos and I cant do it with my new camera...Hopefully, Panasonic will add this feature in future models... Other than that, resolution is excellent and its very small and handy... great for carrying in a purse....
Great camera for the price December 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being a novice photographer I wanted a camera thath would take a clear picture and one that i didn't have to fuss with or take ten minutes to take a picture. The Panasonic Lumix DCM-FS5P-K has proven to be just what I was looking for. Once I have it set up I can aim and shoot and get clear 10.1 MP pictures. The price was excellent compared to others in its class. It is small enough to put in my shirt pocket, but has a large enough screen to view all the action. I am still getting used to all the manual features it offers and hopefully will be able play with these and get good results. I would highly recommend this camera for a novice like myself. The inital setup was easy and from there I am enjoying the pictures.
JUST FANTASTIC December 11, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This camera is fantastic for a pocket size point and shoot. I am a previous Canon elf and Nikon CoolPix owner. Side by side, the Panasonic blows the Canon and Nikon away. A friendly suggestion, Google Canon Powershot lens error & see what you find. I AM SOLD on Panasonic's QUALITY. Photos are excellent, although image quality does suffer some in low light. That being said, this is a problem common to all pocket sized point and shoots. The battery life is very good. I can get 300+ shots on a card before the battery needs a charge. This is assuming you don't keep reviewing your shots every 5 minutes. The more you review your shots, obvously the more battery life you consume. The screen is crisp and clear, controls are well placed and the lens is very good quality. If you are looking at the 3 screen model (FS20), check the images of the BACK SIDE of the cameras. You will notice with the 3screen there is very little room for your fingers. The FS5's 2 1/2screen allows ample room for your fingers without touching the LCD, so if you are thinking the 2 1/2 screen is a deal breaker for you, reconsider that decision before you pay the extra $ for a larger screen model (FS20). The 2 1/2 screen is MORE THAN AMPLE to view your shots. Image stabilization works very well, especially when using the 4x zoom. The wide angle also allows for good panoramic shot. The camera build is SOLID and feels so in your hand, however is still light enough that you don't feel like you are carrying a brick in your pocket or on your belt. Some other reviews complain about the menu. If you are new to Panasonic, a quick review of the manual and after playing with the controls for 10-15 minutes, you should have no problems understanding the menu's and function settings. At it's current price point of $140.00, this unit is a steal. So much so that I just ordered 3 more for Christmas gifts.
